Which subjects and levels do you teach?

I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics across all major UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR). I also support resits, adult learners returning to education, and students preparing for university entrance.

Whether you're struggling with basic concepts or aiming for top grades, I tailor sessions to your specific needs and exam board requirements.

How long is a typical tutoring session?

Most sessions are 60 minutes, which provides enough time to cover concepts thoroughly without causing fatigue. For intensive exam preparation or complex topics, 90-minute sessions are available.

We can adjust session length based on your concentration span and learning preferences.

How much does tutoring cost?

Pricing depends on the level (GCSE vs A-Level) and frequency of sessions. I offer competitive rates with discounts for regular bookings.

Please see the pricing page for current rates, or contact me for a personalised quote based on your specific needs.

Can I reschedule or cancel a session?

Yes, absolutely. I understand that life happens and schedules change. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to avoid charges, as outlined in the Terms & Conditions.

I'll always try to accommodate urgent changes when possible, and we can reschedule to a time that works better for you.

What tools and platforms do you use for online sessions?

I use professional video conferencing platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, combined with interactive online whiteboards for real-time problem solving.

All materials and resources are shared digitally, and I can record sessions for your review if requested. You'll receive access links and any technical setup help before your first session.

Do you set homework between sessions?

Yes, I provide targeted practice questions and exercises to reinforce what we've covered. These are usually short, focused tasks rather than lengthy assignments.

I review your homework at the start of each session and provide detailed feedback to track your progress and identify areas for improvement.

When should we start exam preparation?

Ideally, 3-6 months before your exams allows time to cover all topics systematically and build confidence. However, I also offer intensive revision programmes for students who need to start closer to exam dates.

The earlier we start, the more time we have to identify and address weak areas, practice exam techniques, and build your confidence.

Do you help with exam technique and past papers?

Absolutely. A large part of exam success is knowing how to approach different question types and manage your time effectively. We'll work through past papers, practice exam-style questions, and develop strategies specific to your exam board.

I provide detailed feedback on your answers and help you understand exactly what examiners are looking for.

How do you keep students safe during online sessions?

Safety is my top priority. I'm enhanced DBS-checked and follow robust safeguarding practices aligned with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.

Online sessions use secure platforms with waiting rooms, and I recommend parents/guardians stay nearby for younger students. See our full Safeguarding Policy for complete details.

What happens if I miss a session?

If you miss a session without 24 hours' notice, the session may be charged as outlined in our terms. However, I understand emergencies happen and will work with you to find a solution.

For planned absences, we can easily reschedule to a more convenient time.

Can parents sit in on sessions?

Yes, parents are welcome to observe sessions, especially for younger students. This can help you understand your child's progress and support their learning at home.

For older students, I usually recommend allowing them some independence, but we can discuss what works best for your family.

Do you offer group tutoring sessions?

Currently, I focus on one-to-one tutoring to provide the most personalised support. This allows me to tailor each session specifically to your learning style and pace.

If you're interested in group sessions with friends or siblings, please get in touch to discuss options.
